Is what one is experiencing a real ‘heart-break’ or is it a ‘V-break or P-break’? This has come up in so many discussions with family, friends and clients that its really worth examining!
Is it true that we fall in love? ‘Falling’ means we will be hurt in some way or the other. When 2 people meet the first call of attraction is physical/chemistry which mostly leads to the V and P coitus or double V or double P – whatever one’s preference! Making love, sex, copulation, intercourse or whatever you wish to call it is a serious hook! What ends up happening is that this very exciting, thrilling and deeply physical exchange of bodily parts can mislead and either one party or both feel they are in love. This is not love. This is infatuation or lust or a hook-up or creates a situationship. So after 2 weeks/2 months or 6 months things dont go anywhere as the wonder of coitus starts to wear thin or becomes not so thrilling as it was initially with the chase and imagination. When this happens one feels heart-broken however that is really not a heart-break! Its really a V or P break. Its important to figure out the difference as there’s a physical aspect and this is not emotional or tied to the heart.
Mostly these aspects are not discussed or shared with growing teenagers and young adults in families as these topics are TABOO!
I am getting literal about this so one is able to see the difference…
It takes years to get to know a person and allow the physical attraction to grow into a deep respectful caring relationship. More often then not people drift away from each other as soon as the ‘other’ stops subscribing to how one expected them to be. Even couples that know each other for decades then choose to separate as its just so out of sync!
Relationships come in so many shades and aspects…however a V or P break is not a heart break:)
