Dear Fellow Life Traveller,
Wow…so we have arrived at Gen Z! And now Gen Alpha and what comes next? What does this mean? Today’s children are made from different stuff. I am learning a whole new language, perception, understanding of this new ‘RACE’ that is becoming. I am not sure I fully get it some days however at least I have an inkling. The new kids have a completely different way of computing and perceiving plus a different way to output as well.
I realized it’s a whole different way of communicating and relating – if that! The fact that we are getting these new kids to adopt and adjust to old outdated systems is what is going to be a huge challenge for everyone. From school to religion and from parenting to politics…these kids will encounter confusion, disruption and challenge these old ways as they are sooo different.
One may think that they can be conditioned like all generations have done previously however the stark differences will be visible in a decade or two.
Please be aware of this as it is so visible and look at how one needs to adjust their own yardstick to create new spaces, new ways and support systems for these new generations. One thing is for sure…let them take their time growing up as they need the time to adjust. We have destroyed the word ‘PLAY’ as we add more and more activities and distractions for these little people…
Stop for a moment and re-evaluate…its crucial!! That competitive world you grew up will look very different for your child and children!
