Dear Fellow Life Traveller,
Generational and ancestral wounds that have been passed down from our fore fathers and mothers that have created a huge impact on today’s population. The biggest issue that keeps showing up is the ‘gap’ caused due to these distorted patterns of parenting. Mostly one felt misunderstood or unloved or ignored or not good enough and the list carries on. This is the story of our lives and what we have inherited after centuries of distortion based on the racial, tribal, gender, economical, educational and religious systems that have dictated a mish mash of ridiculous beliefs that have caused serious damage.
As one gets into their 20’s and 30’s it is time to take responsibility and start working through these facades.
To overcome this it is necessary to stop the blame and learn to Self-nurture and nourish. This then avoids the codependency and unrealistic expectations of parents and creates interdependency and a new type of relationship with one Self and the world around.
The number of adult kids mistreating and alienating their parents is quite shocking. This is not going to resolve anything and cause more gaps in the systems with the next generation. What is required is that each person takes responsibility to heal their own ‘story’! Accept their parents and avoid the transference of old baggage to their own kids.
Learning to self-parent, heal, overcome and accept are ways to change these old patterns and beliefs.
